Camp Uncas is being sold completely furnished. The new owner can move in and immediately begin enjoying the camp, complete with boats, linens and dishes.

The furnishings include a large and priceless collection of original rustic furnishings built at Camp Uncas for Camp Uncas. Among these log or log-trimmed pieces are:

• 13 beds
• 12 dressers
• Durant and J.P. Morgan’s rustic desk
• Incomparable large, oak top and rustic base dining table for 12
• Matching smaller table for six
• 14-foot side board
• Exquisite built-in furniture with curved tree root arm rests
• Log slab table and two matching log chairs
• Various tables
• Mirrors
• Medicine chest

 

 

Other original-to-Uncas furnishings and décor include:

· Two museum quality Lee Fountain birch rocking chairs
· Two matching Old Hickory dressers
· Old Hickory porch furniture
· Arts-and-crafts furniture including a Gustav Stickley night stand
· Many hand-forged door latches, hinges, and other decrative iron work from the Uncas blacksmith shop
· Animal trophies
· A set of silver-plate flatware inscribed with “Uncas”
· A large assortment of cloth table napkins and original linens, with embroidered
_"Uncas” or related monograms and early dates
· Several early Uncas blankets
· Hundreds of postcards from when Uncas was open as a museum in the late ‘50s

 

 

An Emerson Adirondack guide boat original to Camp Uncas is included, as are two modern canoes and a row boat.

So are many fine and/or utilitarian furnishings and much of the décor purchased for Uncas over the last 40 years.

The current owners will take only their personal possessions with them—some books, wood carvings, clothes, tools, and other personal items.
